Apostle
Peter Discussion of
Peter as seen in selected stories from the Gospels and the
book of Acts, followed by discussion and study of the epistles
of 1 and 2 Peter.
Bible Stories for Adults Did you know
that stories such as Daniel and the lion’s den, Noah and the
ark and much of the life of David would be rated PG-13 if they
were made into movies? These well-loved children’s stories are
not really for kids. Join us as we uncover truth for adults
about God from the exciting adventures of Daniel, Joshua,
Deborah and many other Old Testament Bible characters. This is
a great class for those new to the Bible as well as people
familiar with these stories!
College & Career A class specifically
designed designed for young adults (singles and married
couples) to enjoy fellowship and study God's word in a
discussion oriented format.
First Corinthians Join us for an in-depth study of Paul’s
first letter to the church at Corinth. This letter provides a
glimpse of life inside one first-century church, in which the
spirit of the world seemed to have more influence than the
Spirit of God. Paul wrote this letter to correct their abuse
of Christian liberty and to exhort them to deal with the
practical implications of their Christian life in the context
of the local church. Corinth was depraved, but probably not
much different from our modern society. This makes Paul’s
instruction directly applicable to us
today.
Gospel of Matthew Matthew’s Gospel contains some of the most
beautiful, famous, compelling and yet complex teachings of
Jesus. Matthew wrote to convince his readers that Jesus
was the promised Messiah. This gospel relates the heart
of Jesus and His ministry of joy, hope, and salvation to God’s
people. Come and join us in an interactive and enjoyable
study this spring. A study of the greatest miracles of Jesus
from the Gospel of John.
Habakkuk Why is there so much injustice in the world? Why
do evil people prosper? Why do the righteous suffer? The
prophet Habakkuk asked these questions over 2,600 years ago.
Learn the answers to these questions (and more!) as we study
the Old Testament book of Habakkuk in an open and lively
discussion-oriented format.
Letters of the Apostle
Paul How can a holy God accept
sinful men? What does a spiritual life look like?
What is my function in the church -- the body of Christ?
Is Christ enough for me or is something better out
there? What happens to Christians that die? These
questions (and more!) will be answered as we study through
selected letters, beginning with Paul’s letter to the
Philippians in an open, enjoyable and lively
discussion-oriented format.
Miracles of Jesus A study of the greatest miracles of Jesus
from the Gospel of John.
Philippians & 2
Timothy This 12-week class will study verse-by-verse
through two of Paul’s shorter letters, Philippians and 2
Timothy. They share the characteristic of being written from
prison, but are different in time and severity.
Most importantly, Paul’s heart is openly
expressed in them. We will see and learn what the apostle
considered the central message he believed and taught, and for
which he was willing to suffer. The living Christ was that
center, and the only proper focus for genuine Christian living
today.
