Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 26, 2014 / 6:30–8:30pm

The back parking lot of Crossroads Bible Church
8101 Justin Rd., Double Oak, TX 75077

Free to attend!

Join us for CBC's 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat! Come enjoy an evening of candy, costumes, and community as you make your way through our collection of decorated car trunks and truck beds.

Why is this a great event? It's a safe environment (closed off to traffic) for families with children from newborns all the way through adult children. It's convenient; instead of spending two hours walking the neighborhood, gather the same amount of candy in about 20 minutes. This will also allow families to stay home or connect with their communities on October 31. Trunk or Treat is open to the community, so please invite friends and neighbors to come have a great time!

Give us a Trunk!

This is where you come in.
We want your small group or ministry team to bring a trunk. Please consider providing your vehicle for the event. Simply bring it to CBC on October 26 before 6pm and have an adult posted at the car for the duration of the event. We'll even take care of providing the "treats." You will need to allow your car/trunk to stay in place until 8:30pm, when the event ends and kids have cleared the parking lot.

Sign up your trunk!

Themes and Prizes!
We would love for you to "theme it out." See the below examples of great themed cars/trunks. Please avoid anything that involves gore or anything overtly frightening. "Friendly-scary" (i.e. Peanuts/Disney-type scary) is okay, but nothing over-the-top. Let's face it, some kids are scared of cats or clowns, so it's hard to win with this idea, but do your best to theme it out reasonably. The sun will set around 6:30pm so a lit-theme would be cool. There will be prizes for the best trunks.

Theme ideas (and picture examples):

  • Hippies (great if you have a VW Van)
  • Farmers
  • Disney
  • Cartoon characters (Scooby)
  • Star Wars (or ANY movie theme)
  • Fall Decor
  • Classic (if you have a vintage car, dress up in the era of that car.)
